Metal massacre 1

Rilis 14 Juni 1982, vinyl dan kaset. Beberapa tahun berikutnya juga dirilis CD. Lagu: ‘Hit The Lights’ versi 1, James main gitar ritem, vokal, dan bass; Lars main drum; dan Lloyd Grant isi gitar solo. Namun dalam sampul albumnya, diberikan kredit kepada 5 orang: James (gitar ritem, vokal), Lars (drum), Ron McGovney (bass), Dave Mustaine (lead gitar), dan Lloyd Grant (gitar). Terdapat dua kesalahan penulisan dalam sampul belakang album ini: nama band ditulis ‘Mettallica’, dan nama Ron menjadi ‘McGouney’. Pada cetakan kedua yang dirilis di tahun yang sama, tak ada kesalahan penulisan. Cetakan kedua dirilis oleh Metalworks Records.

Rubaiyat: Elektra’s 40^th Anniversary

Rilis 24 September 1990, dalam rangka peringatan 40 tahun label Elektra Records. Lagu: ‘Stone Cold Crazy’ (cover Queen). Lagu ini raih Grammy kedua untuk Metallica, kategori Best Metal Performance tanggal 20 Februari 1991.

For Those About To Rock

Rilis 14 Oktober 1992, VHS / DVD rekaman konser live dari Monster of Rock festival di Moscow tahun 1991 bersama AC/DC, The Black Crowes, dan Pantera. Lagu: ‘Enter Sandman’, ‘Creeping Death’, ‘Fade to Black’.

The Freddy Mercury Tribute Concert

Rilis 23 November 1993, rekaman konser live bulan April 1992. Lagu: ‘Enter Sandman’, ’Sad But True', 'Nothing Else Matters', ‘Stone Cold Crazy’ (James bersama anggota Queen plus Tony Iommi dari Black Sabbath). Tiga lagu di atas (tanpa Stone Cold Crazy) diluncurkan 27 April 1992 dalam single Live at Wembley Stadium.

Woodstock ’94

Rilis 08 November 1994. Rekaman live Woodstock 12-14 Agustus 1994.

Lagu: ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’ yang ditampilkan tanggal 13 Agustus 1994.

Spawn: The Album

Rilis 29 Juli 1997. Album soundtrack film Spawn.

Lagu: ‘Satan’ dimainkan oleh Orbital and Kirk Hammett, ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls (The Irony of It All)’ hasil remix oleh DJ Spooky.

Rilis 19 Oktober 1999. Rekaman live Woodstock 22-25 Juli 1994.

Lagu: ‘Creeping Death’ yang dimainkan 24 Juli 1999.

WCW: Mayhem – The Music

Rilis 16 November 1999. Lagu kompilasi yang biasa diputar saat berlangsung acara WCW. Dua pegulatnya, Sting dan Cibernetico selalu diiringi lagu ‘Seek and Destroy’ saat hendak masuk arena.

M:I-2 atau sering juga disebut Music from and Inspired by M:I-2 (Mission Impossible 2)

Rilis: 09 Mei 2000. Salah satu lagu dari kompilasi soundtrack film M:I-2 (Mission Impossible 2) dibintangi oleh aktor Tom Cruise. Sebenarnya Metallica diminta untuk membuat theme song film ini, tapi mereka maunya ciptakan lagu baru untuk soundtrack.

NASCAR: Full Throttle

Rilis: 16 Oktober 2001. Album kompilasi yang dikeluarkan oleh Nascar, dimana theme song-nya adalah Fuel, yang selalu diputar sebelum para pembalap diminta hidupkan mesinnya sebelum start lap.

Lagu: ‘Fuel for Fire’ (versi awal dari Fuel, dengan lirik berbeda dari album ReLoad).

Metal Blade 20^th Anniversary

Rilis 22 Oktober 2002. Album kompilasi memperingati 20 tahun Metal Blade Records milik Brian Slagel.
